What made it demanding
Renovating an active retail store means the sales floor, checkout and back-of-house all have to be rebuilt without interrupting the store’s daily business. The work also had to meet the client’s project specifications, regulatory requirements and quality standards, with consultants and municipal authorities involved in the review.
How Hilson delivered
Construction was scheduled during non-operational hours, so the store continued serving customers without interruption. Working closely with the client, consultants and municipal authorities, Hilson coordinated the construction program against specifications and regulatory requirements. With experience delivering renovations across multiple liquor store locations, the team managed the work within the operational retail environment while minimizing disruption. Energy-efficient lighting, sustainable materials and low-VOC paints and adhesives were incorporated to support improved indoor air quality and long-term efficiency.
What was delivered
The project was delivered on schedule and received positive feedback from store management for its seamless execution, organization and minimal impact on daily operations. For retail chains, operators and landlords, it is a direct example of Hilson completing a full store renovation in a regulated retail environment while the store stayed open.
