Project overview
A renovation and redevelopment of an occupied, approximately 7,500 sq. ft. residential building in Metro Vancouver, currently under construction with Hilson Construction as general contractor. Interior, structural, mechanical, electrical and exterior improvements are being delivered as one coordinated program around residents who remain in place.
The need
The owner of Manor House, an approximately 7,500 sq. ft. building spanning three levels and a basement in Metro Vancouver, needed a comprehensive renovation and redevelopment of both the building and its surrounding property. The building is occupied, so the program has to maintain safe access and continuity for residents throughout construction.

What made it demanding
Manor House combines several of the factors that complicate a renovation: existing conditions in the building, active residential occupancy, multiple trades working concurrently around occupied units, and a diverse scope that runs from structural and mechanical work through to exterior and site improvements. All of it has to proceed without cutting off residents’ safe access to their homes.
How Hilson delivered
Hilson is coordinating each phase to minimize disruption while maintaining a safe work environment and keeping construction moving efficiently. Disciplined scheduling determines which trades work where and when, communication with occupants is maintained as phases change, and site management keeps construction areas separated from occupied units.
